Tomorrowland festival removes harasser and drives 60,000 Brussels hotel nights

Security staff at the Tomorrowland festival in Boom, Belgium, removed an attendee after reports that he threatened a group of Israeli festivalgoers. Witnesses said the individual, described as a supporter of the Palestinian cause, shouted insults and warned of violence against anyone supporting the Israeli Defence Forces. Festival security identified him, deactivated his wristband and escorted him off the grounds, a move praised by those present.

The event also generated a major economic boost for nearby Brussels. The Brussels Hotel Association estimates that festival‑goers accounted for about 60,000 overnight hotel stays, with 43 partner hotels and venues such as Hotel Le Plaza fully booked for around 1,000 guests. Brussels Airlines reported transporting nearly 25,000 visitors from 106 countries on 409 flights, a rise of 10,000 compared with the previous year, and operates special party flights featuring live DJs.
