Tomás Tolosa retires from professional football at age 23

Tomás Tolosa, a 23-year-old forward for Unión Española, has announced his retirement from professional football. The decision comes after Tolosa appeared in four matches for the club during the 2026 season.

In an interview with ADN Deportes, Tolosa cited a lack of opportunities with the first team as the primary reason for his departure from the sport. He noted that despite high performance levels in the Proyección series and being among the league's top scorers, he did not receive the playing time he anticipated. Tolosa mentioned that he even engaged in double training sessions to improve his skills and prepare for a chance to play, but ultimately concluded that the opportunity would not materialize.
