Tonga National University signs Massey University MoU and addresses accreditation disputes
Tonga National University (TNU) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Massey University to expand collaboration in teaching, research, and staff and student development. The partnership is expected to focus particularly on TNU’s School of Agriculture to address Tonga’s specific educational and agricultural needs.
Separately, TNU, the Public Service Commission (PSC), the Ministry of Education and Training (MET), and the Tonga National Qualifications and Accreditation Board (TNQAB) have issued a joint pledge to resolve disputes regarding the recognition of certain TNU certificates. This follows parliamentary concerns that some graduates, specifically from the Business Faculty, found their qualifications were not accepted by the PSC due to lack of accreditation for certain programs.
