Toni Fernández to join Venezia from Barcelona

Barcelona winger Toni Fernández is set to join Italian Serie A side Venezia in a permanent transfer. The 18-year-old Spanish youth international has reached a verbal agreement with the Italian club, opting for Venezia’s project over interest from several Premier League and Bundesliga teams.

The deal is reportedly valued at €4 million. As part of the agreement, Barcelona sporting director Deco has secured a buy-back option and a 50% sell-on clause. Fernández, who has played for Barcelona’s reserve team Barca Atlètic and made a single La Liga appearance, reportedly chose Italy due to the cultural transition being more comfortable than options in England or Germany.
