Toni Vodišek opens Olympic Festival in Ljubljana

The Olympic Festival has officially opened at Congress Square in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The opening ceremony followed Olympic protocol, featuring silver medalist Toni Vodišek carrying the Olympic torch to light the flame. He was accompanied by athletes Maruša Mišmaš Zrimšek and Ana Gros, with a group of children carrying the Olympic flag.

The festival is part of the European Week of Sport, running from September 23 to September 30. Visitors can experience approximately 60 different Olympic and non-Olympic sports through interactive playgrounds and equipment. The event also includes musical performances, activities for children, and a charity run for 'Botrstvo v športu' (Sponsorship in Sport).

In conjunction with Slovenian Sport Day, a nationwide 'Nabiramo kilometre' (Collecting Kilometers) campaign was coordinated by the Olympic Committee of Slovenia. Approximately 21,700 participants across the country covered a total of 98,980 kilometers.
