Tonkatsu no Daisho to close after 36 years in Tomakomai

Tonkatsu no Daisho, a long-standing restaurant in Tomakomai, Hokkaido, has announced it will close its doors on October 31, 2026. Located along Route 36 in Takuyu Nishi-cho, the establishment has been serving tonkatsu and ramen since 1990.

The owner cited the inability to continue operations due to advancing age and the lack of a successor as the primary reasons for the decision. The restaurant has notified customers via Instagram and in-store signage, noting that they expect increased crowds following the announcement and will increase part-time staff to manage the demand.
