Tonkeeper rebrands as Keeper to support multichain expansion
Tonkeeper, a major self-custodial wallet within The Open Network (TON) ecosystem, has rebranded as Keeper to reflect its expansion into a multichain platform. The wallet, which serves over 77 million registered users, is moving beyond its original focus on TON to support six additional blockchain networks: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tron, BNB Smart Chain, Arbitrum, and Base.
The rebranding follows a shift in user behavior, as many existing users have begun managing assets across various ecosystems, including stablecoins and Ethereum-compatible layer-2 networks. By integrating these chains into a single application, Keeper aims to reduce the fragmentation caused by users needing multiple wallets and bridges to manage different assets.
Key features of the new platform include a “Battery” function designed to enable gasless transactions, allowing users to pay network fees without holding the native gas token for every supported blockchain. The service maintains a focus on self-custody, requiring no accounts or KYC for core functionality. The transition follows a management change in August, where The Open Platform assumed operational leadership of the wallet.
