Tonto Dikeh clarifies spiritual history and evangelist title

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has addressed public misconceptions regarding her religious faith, stating that her relationship with God began long before her recent public declarations. During an interview with Kikelomo Atanda-Owo, Dikeh explained that she has been a follower of Christ since her youth, noting that she was nearly ordained as a pastor at the age of 17.

Dikeh emphasized the distinction between her private spiritual life and her public persona. She stated that the messages she attributes to God are personal experiences that occurred in private, rather than something intended for public demonstration. This clarification follows her recent decision to transition from her former “King Tonto” moniker to being addressed as Evangelist Tonto Dikeh, a change she attributes to spiritual guidance.

While Dikeh has spoken about overcoming past personal struggles, including drug addiction, she maintains that her current religious identity is not a sudden reinvention but the visible manifestation of a lifelong connection to her faith.
