Tony Buzbee to demolish $15.5 million Houston mansion

Attorney Tony Buzbee has decided to demolish a $15.5 million mansion located at 1708 River Oaks Boulevard in Houston’s prestigious River Oaks neighborhood. Despite the property's extensive features—including six bedrooms, an indoor pool, an elevator, and a wine cellar—Buzbee stated he disliked the home's style and interior decoration.

The plan is to merge the newly purchased lot with his existing adjacent property to create a much larger private estate featuring a pool house and an expansive English garden.

To mitigate waste, Buzbee has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to salvage approximately $4 million worth of materials from the structure. Items such as custom woodwork, marble, kitchen equipment, and architectural pieces will be repurposed for affordable housing projects or sold through ReStore outlets to fund social housing initiatives.
