Tony Cornelius celebrates Soul Train legacy in Los Angeles

Tony Cornelius, son of the late Soul Train creator Don Cornelius, hosted the Bakewell Media Presents Sounds of the Soul Stage during the 21st Annual Taste of Soul Family Festival in Los Angeles on October 17, 2026.

The event featured a musical lineup including Thelma Houston, Switch, Midnight Star, Faleisha Reese, Coline Creuzot, Brothers Igniting a Groove (B. I. G.), and Rob McDonald & Friends. The celebration focused on R&B, soul, and funk traditions.

A central highlight was a reimagined Soul Train dance experience curated by Cornelius. This presentation brought together veteran dancers from the original television franchise and a new generation of dancers to demonstrate the evolving spirit of the brand.
