Tony Cote Summer Games Open in North Battleford, Canada

The 2026 Tony Cote Summer Games began in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, with a week of competition, friendship and celebration among First Nations youth. Moosomin First Nation Chief Quentin Swiftwolfe encouraged participants to "compete with pride" and foster respect, while Lac La Ronge Indian Band Chief Tammy Cook‑Searson thanked volunteers and highlighted the 600‑kilometre sacred lance run that strengthened ties between the Lac La Ronge Indian Band and the Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs.
