Tony D'Angelo Defends NXT's Status and Prepares for Great American Bash Clash

WWE NXT World Champion Tony D’Angelo told listeners on the Complex Graps podcast that he is proud of NXT’s identity as a "third brand" and is frustrated by fans who downgrade it to a developmental show. He emphasized the talent’s commitment and dismissed negative commentary as "noise."

On the June 17 episode of NXT, D’Angelo faced challenger Naraku in a heated face‑to‑face segment ahead of their title match at the upcoming Great American Bash. After signing a contract for the bout, D’Angelo handed it to Naraku, who delayed signing and warned, “Evil is coming.”

WWE also announced a fan‑focused tailgate and watch party outside the Performance Center on June 28, the night of the Great American Bash, and revealed that main‑roster stars Otis, Akira Tozawa and Grayson Waller will appear at NXT house shows in Kentucky and Indiana later in June.
