Tony Gonsolin signs Major League contract with Kansas City Royals
The Kansas City Royals have signed right-handed pitcher Tony Gonsolin to a Major League contract for the 2026 season. The deal includes a club option for 2027.
Gonsolin, a former All-Star and 2020 World Series champion with the Los Angeles Dodgers, has been placed immediately on the Royals’ 15-day injured list. He is recovering from pronator repair surgery on his right elbow performed in August 2025. His availability for the upcoming season remains uncertain.
To make room for Gonsolin on the 40-man roster, the Royals have designated right-handed pitcher Eli Morgan for assignment.
