Tony Hadley performs jazz‑infused pop at Selinunte archaeological park

The Parco Archeologico di Selinunte hosted a special concert as part of the Sicilia Jazz Festival, featuring Tony Hadley, the former lead singer of Spandau Ballet. Hadley sang his 1980s pop hits alongside the Orchestra Jazz Siciliana, led by maestro Vito Giordano, and delivered renditions of Frank Sinatra standards. The performance blended pop, swing and jazz under the ancient Greek temples, drawing praise from the audience and highlighting the historic setting.

Local bassist Marco Gaudio also appeared with the orchestra, celebrating his recent graduation with top marks and a tribute to his mentors. Gaudio’s participation linked the event to the regional music community, showcasing emerging talent alongside the international star.

The concert was organized in collaboration with regional cultural institutions, including the Assessorato Regionale del Turismo and several conservatories, emphasizing the blend of heritage, tourism and contemporary music in Sicily.
