Tony Hawk and Chef George Azir to Open A Toda Madre Restaurant in Detroit

Professional skateboarder Tony Hawk is teaming up with Detroit chef George Azar to launch an upscale restaurant called A Toda Madre at the Shepherd cultural arts center in downtown Detroit. The venue, slated to open in early 2027, will combine “exceptional food, art, music and culture” and include a terrace offering views of a local skate park. Both partners have prior food‑service experience—Hawk with Chick & Hawk in California and Azar with Flowers of Vietnam in Southwest Detroit. Organizers describe the project as a new cultural landmark intended to draw people together in the city’s Little Village district.
