Tony Iommi Announces New Solo Album “From The Dark”

Heavy‑metal pioneer Tony Iommi has announced his first solo album since 2005, titled From The Dark, scheduled for release on 23 October through BMG. The record’s lead single, “World Alone”, features Norwegian vocalist Jørn Lande and is accompanied by a retro‑future music video directed by Ryan Mackfall. Iommi’s lineup includes bassist Becky Baldwin, drummer Karl Brazil and co‑producer Mike Exeter, with a guest guitar solo by Queen’s Brian May on the track “Death Wake”. Iommi said the album “rocks” and is not meant to prove anything. The album was presented in Birmingham on 29 July, where Iommi discussed the project with comedian Frank Skinner.
