Tony Iommi announces new solo album ‘From The Dark’

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has announced his upcoming solo album, ‘From The Dark’, marking his first solo studio release in 21 years. The album is scheduled for release by BMG on October 23, 2026.

As part of the rollout, Iommi has released a limited edition 7-inch vinyl single of the track ‘World Alone’. The physical release features a deluxe metallized sleeve and includes an exclusive instrumental version on the B-side. The single features Norwegian vocalist Jorn Lande, who also performs across the full album and shares songwriting credits on every track.

The album, co-produced by Iommi and Mike Exeter, consists of eight principal tracks, including ‘Over The Violent Sun’, ‘Black Times’, and ‘Legacy’. A deluxe CD edition will include two additional songs, ‘Scent Of Dark’ and ‘Deified’. The music video for ‘World Alone’ utilizes a retrofuturistic, dystopian narrative centered on a character known as ‘The Believer’ within a video game-inspired environment.
