Tony Iommi recalls final conversation with Ozzy Osbourne

Tony Iommi has shared details regarding his final conversation with Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away in July 2025 at the age of 76.

Speaking in recent interviews, Iommi revealed that he spoke with Osbourne on the night before his death. During the call, Osbourne reportedly expressed feeling ‘tired and really worn out.’ Iommi noted that the two musicians maintained regular contact to discuss their respective health issues.

The conversation occurred shortly after the ‘Back To The Beginning’ tribute event held at Villa Park in Birmingham, which served as a final major appearance for the band members. Iommi expressed that while Osbourne was happy with the success of the performance, seeing him in a weakened state during the event was difficult.
