Tony Iommi releases first solo album in 21 years

Black Sabbath co-founder and heavy metal pioneer Tony Iommi has released his new solo album, ‘From The Dark’, via BMG. This marks his first solo studio offering in over two decades, following 2005’s ‘Fused’.

The album features a stable band lineup including Norwegian vocalist Jørn Lande, bassist Becky Baldwin, and drummer Karl Brazil. Iommi co-produced the record with long-time collaborator Mike Exeter. The tracklist includes eight primary songs, such as ‘Over The Violent Sun’, ‘World Alone’, and ‘Stormwatcher’, with bonus tracks ‘Scent of Dark’ and ‘Deified’ included on deluxe editions. Notably, Queen guitarist Brian May contributes a guest solo on the track ‘Death Wake’.

To celebrate the release, a series of international listening sessions were organized in cities including Mexico City, London, Berlin, Madrid, Tokyo, São Paulo, and Brooklyn.
