Tony Iommi releases first solo album in 21 years

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has released his third solo studio album, titled ‘From The Dark’. This marks his first solo project in over two decades and follows the recent passing of former bandmate Ozzy Osbourne.

The album features Norwegian vocalist Jorn Lande, whose style has been compared to Ronnie James Dio. The recording includes contributions from bassist Becky Baldwin and drummer Karl Brazil, with production handled by Iommi and Mike Exeter. The tracks explore themes of mortality, isolation, and redemption through a heavy, doom-influenced sound.

Separately, Iommi has confirmed plans to remix the 1983 Black Sabbath album ‘Born Again’, which featured Ian Gillan on vocals. After a long search for the original master tapes, which were eventually located in a record company warehouse, Iommi stated that the material is now ready for the remixing process to address previous production issues.
