Tony Parker visits Ovakuvale community in Angola

Tony Parker and Laury Thilleman traveled to Angola to visit the Ovakuvale, a community of semi-nomadic herders, for an episode of the television program ‘Rendez-vous en terre inconnue’ on France 2.

The journey involved three days of travel via plane, 4x4 vehicles, and walking to reach one of Africa’s most isolated communities. Parker, a former professional basketball player, described the experience as deeply connecting him to life, noting that he participated partly due to his long-standing relationship with Thilleman and the timing of the trip following the death of his father.

Parker emphasized his commitment to the show’s premise of traveling without prior knowledge of the destination, stating he ‘played the game to the end’ by not asking questions about his location.
