The food rescue platform Too Good To Go is being utilized by businesses and consumers to reduce food waste in both Germany and the United Kingdom.

In the Tirschenreuth district of Germany, local retailers like Ramona Ulrich use the app to offer ‘surprise bags’ containing surplus fruits, vegetables, and baked goods at significantly discounted prices. This initiative helps prevent edible food from being discarded while providing affordable options for customers. Additionally, some surplus is donated to local food banks.

In London, the app serves as a budget-friendly resource for students near University College London (UCL). By purchasing discounted bags of leftover meals from local establishments such as Bex Coffee, Sababa Station, and Ta’Mini, users can access restaurant-quality food while contributing to the reduction of the nearly 2 million tonnes of food waste generated in London annually.
