Tooro Kingdom seeks Shs925 million for new King’s coronation

Tooro Kingdom has launched a fundraising campaign to raise Shs925 million for the upcoming coronation of the new Omukama, Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I. The ceremony is scheduled to take place on September 29, 2026.

The coronation organizing committee, led by chairperson Msgr Isaiah Mayombo, is seeking contributions from the people of Tooro, well-wishers, and the business community. Financial support can be made through Centenary Bank or via mobile money platforms.

President Yoweri Museveni is expected to attend the event as the chief guest. The festivities will include traditional rituals, such as a symbolic mock battle, beginning on the night of September 28 as the king-elect moves from Rwengoma Palace to Karuziika Palace.
