Tooro Queen Mother reveals late King Oyo left son in US

Tooro Queen Mother Best Kemigisa has revealed that the late King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV left behind a son who currently resides in the United States. Kemigisa stated that the family originally intended for the child to return to Uganda from Texas for the King's burial, but the decision was reversed due to concerns regarding a tense and polarized succession dispute.

Kemigisa expressed deep sadness over the decision to leave the child in the U.S., emphasizing that no child should be exposed to hostility or conflict arising from royal disagreements. She criticized the speed of the succession process, noting that a committee was formed to choose a new king only hours after the King's death, and a successor was announced while the King's body was still being transported to Tooro.

The Queen Mother called for succession matters to be addressed calmly, lawfully, and respectfully only after the late King has been laid to rest with dignity.
