Top Dawg Entertainment wins ruling against doxxing claim

A California appeals court has ruled that Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) cannot be sued for doxxing two women who accused the label of sexual misconduct, assault, and breach of contract.

The plaintiffs, Linda Luna and Ayah Altayri, originally filed their lawsuit in December 2024 using pseudonyms. They alleged that TDE violated anti-doxxing laws by revealing their identities in a press release issued by the company to deny the allegations. However, the appeals court overturned a previous ruling, stating that the women had no legal right to anonymity because they failed to file a formal motion with the trial court to request it.

The court noted that while the nature of the allegations was sensitive, it was the responsibility of the plaintiffs to seek court approval for anonymity. The ruling makes the doxxing claim moot, though the underlying allegations of sexual harassment, battery, negligence, and unpaid work against executives including Brandon Tiffith and Anthony Tiffith Jr. remain part of the legal proceedings. TDE has denied all misconduct allegations, characterizing the lawsuit as a shakedown based on fabricated claims.
