Top recruit Lewis Uvwo to announce college commitment Wednesday

Five-star center Lewis Uvwo, a top-10 prospect in the class of 2027, is scheduled to announce his college commitment on Wednesday, October 28, at 3:30 PM ET. The 6-foot-11 prospect, known for his elite rim protection and shot-blocking abilities, is choosing between four finalists: Baylor, Providence, California, and Kentucky.

Uvwo, who attends Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is highly regarded for his defensive potential. Originally from Nigeria, he moved to the United States in 2025 and has played organized basketball for only three years. Despite his relatively short experience, he averaged approximately six blocks per game on the Nike EYBL circuit.

While Kentucky and Baylor have been noted as strong contenders, recent reports suggest momentum has shifted toward Baylor and Providence. Landing Uvwo would represent a significant recruitment achievement for the participating programs.
