Topi Parviainen qualifies for European Athletics javelin final
Nineteen-year-old javelin thrower Topi Parviainen secured a place in the men's European Athletics Championships final in Birmingham, narrowly preserving Finland's historical streak of having a representative in the event. Parviainen's throw of 78.88 meters allowed him to qualify for the final by a margin of just 12 centimeters.
In addition to Parviainen's success, high jumper Ella Junnila performed well in the qualifying rounds, clearing the 191 cm mark on her second attempt. This performance exceeded expectations, as the qualifying standard was notably more accessible this year with 15 athletes advancing.
