Topic and carteblanche release new single ‘Lucky Ones’

DJ and producer Topic has released a new single titled ‘Lucky Ones’, a collaboration with the duo carteblanche. The track marks a stylistic shift toward indietronic and indie-pop, moving away from the Afro-influenced sounds Topic has explored in recent years.

The song was originally composed with a focus on melody and songwriting, similar to a band arrangement, before being reworked into a dance track. It features synth-heavy production and aims to capture a ‘melancholic dance music’ atmosphere, a description used for Topic’s earlier work. The release is characterized by a warm, widescreen sound intended to evoke the feeling of late summer.
