TopMed celebrates 20 years as a pioneer in Brazilian healthtech

TopMed, a healthtech company founded in São José, Santa Catarina, is celebrating 20 years of operation. Established before the national regulation of telemedicine in Brazil, the company has grown into an operation that serves over 6 million active lives both domestically and abroad.

The company performs more than 350,000 monthly consultations and maintains a resolution rate exceeding 90%. Founder Fernando da Costa noted that the company focused on technology and innovation long before telemedicine became a standard part of the Brazilian healthcare vocabulary.

Key milestones include the 2012 launch of Saúde24h, Brazil’s first 24-hour receptive telehealth service. TopMed has since developed proprietary technology and clinical algorithms tailored to the Brazilian epidemiological reality, focusing on remote monitoring and chronic patient management.
