Topolya transforms former Pannónia Hotel into administrative and cultural center

The former Pannónia Hotel in Topolya is being transformed into a modern administrative, cultural, and educational center. The approximately 5,400-square-meter facility will include a 59-bed student dormitory and serve as a hub for local government services and community programs.

The renovation project, which cost roughly 496 million dinars, was largely funded by the Hungarian government through the Bethlen Gábor Fund, with the local municipality contributing nearly 79 million dinars. Additionally, Bálint Pásztor, leader of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (VMSZ), announced that 70 million dinars from the republican budget reserve were secured to assist with furnishing the building and developing water networks in Pacsér and Bácskossuthfalva.

The project has faced several delays since the municipality purchased the property in 2015. After initial construction issues and the termination of a contract with Stim Gradnja due to scheduling failures, a new contract was signed in November 2023 with the Novi Sad-based Inobačka group. Local administrative bodies are expected to move into the new facility by March or April.
