Toprak Razgatlioglu to undergo MRI following shoulder dislocation
MotoGP rider Toprak Razgatlioglu is scheduled to undergo an MRI scan in Turkey to assess a dislocated right shoulder. The injury occurred during a highside crash at the Mandalika circuit during the Indonesian Grand Prix weekend.
Despite the injury, Razgatlioglu attempted to compete, finishing 19th in the Sprint race. However, increasing pain and a loss of physical strength forced him to retire from the Grand Prix on lap nine of the main race. He noted that while he managed the pain with medication, the inability to generate power and difficulty with direction changes made continuing impossible.
Razgatlioglu expressed hope that the medical results will indicate that surgery is unnecessary and that rest will allow him to recover in time for the next round at Phillip Island in late October.
