Tops ensures essential goods supply amid Bangkok flooding
Tops, a subsidiary of Central Retail, has confirmed that its inventory of essential goods remains sufficient to meet public demand amid flooding in Bangkok. The retailer is prioritizing the supply of drinking water, dried foods, ready-to-eat meals, and daily necessities.
To manage the situation, Tops has established a 24-hour ‘War Room’ to monitor real-time developments. This operations center focuses on three areas: assessing the safety of customers and staff, installing flood barriers and drainage systems at store locations, and managing the supply chain with partners to ensure effective distribution.
While logistics operations continue, the company has implemented ‘special delivery rounds’ to expedite the replenishment of storefronts. However, deliveries in certain areas may experience delays due to high water levels or traffic congestion, as the company prioritizes the safety of its delivery personnel.
As of September 26, ten locations have temporarily closed or adjusted their operating hours, including one Tops branch at Fashion Island, six Tops Daily branches, and three Tops Care branches. The company stated it will resume normal operations as soon as local conditions allow.
