Tor Tre Ponti hosts Via Appia historical event

The Fondazione Roffredo Caetani, in collaboration with the Fondazione Camillo Caetani and the Province of Latina, is hosting an event titled ‘Sulle tracce della Regina Viarum: la Via Appia e Tor Tre Ponti’ on September 26. The initiative focuses on the historical and architectural significance of the Tor Tre Ponti Monumental Complex located along the Via Appia.

The event includes guided visits to the complex and an in-depth discussion regarding the transformation of the Pontine landscape. Professor Manuel Vaquero Piñeiro from the University of Perugia will discuss the evolution of the territory from 19th-century forests to modern agricultural enterprises under the Caetani family. Additionally, architect Elisabetta Ricci will present on the historical-architectural development of the complex, covering its late 18th-century refoundation by Pope Pius VI and its expansion as a postal station and religious site.
