Toray launches new nanofiltration membranes for water treatment

Toray Industries has launched two new types of nanofiltration (NF) membrane elements for water treatment: the NE8040-XDM and the NE8040-90F. Developed and manufactured by its wholly-owned South Korean subsidiary, Toray Advanced Materials Korea (TAK), these products were released for global sale starting in July 2026.

The NE8040-XDM features a high-durability structure that provides up to five times the chemical resistance of standard products and a 10% improvement in divalent ion separation. This model is designed to support long-term stable operation in industrial wastewater treatment and zero-liquid discharge processes.

The NE8040-90F is optimized for water purification and reuse processes, balancing high permeability with superior removal performance for trace hazardous substances, including PFAS. This product aims to improve water quality safety while reducing operating expenses (OPEX).
