Croatian police have arrested Ivan Rinčić, the general secretary of the Torcida supporter group, on suspicion of making direct threats against 11 journalists and one political analyst.

The investigation revealed that on October 18, 2026, the 29-year-old suspect posted a collage of photos of the targets on social media under the title ‘12 riders of the Croatian apocalypse’. The post included text that police characterized as a direct threat, aimed at intimidating the individuals in relation to their professional work. The journalists targeted are from various outlets, including Index, 24sata, Telegram, and Slobodna Dalmacija, alongside political analyst Žarko Puhovski.

Rinčić, a Croatian citizen born in 1997, has been handed over to a detention supervisor. A criminal complaint has been filed with the Municipal State Prosecutor's Office in Split. Additionally, police in Zagreb arrested another individual for posting a comment suggesting the creation of a death list in response to the original posts.
