Torfaen campaign challenges myth regarding fostering and employment

A new campaign in Torfaen is working to dispel the misconception that individuals must abandon their careers to become foster carers. Foster Wales Torfaen is highlighting that nearly 40 per cent of foster carers in Wales successfully balance employment with fostering.

Local authority foster carers often work in sectors such as healthcare, education, social care, and emergency services. The initiative also encourages businesses to participate in the ‘Fostering Friendly Employers’ scheme to foster supportive workplace cultures for staff members who foster.
