Torge Oelrich retires cult character Sandra and discusses YouTube competition

German YouTuber Torge Oelrich, known as Freshtorge, has announced the permanent retirement of his popular cult character, Sandra. While a final video is planned and a last stage appearance is scheduled for May 25, 2027, during his anniversary tour, Oelrich stated there is no hope for a future comeback for the character.

Reflecting on his 20-year career, Oelrich noted that the landscape for digital creators has changed significantly. He observed that while he had to teach himself technical skills like editing and audio production without tutorials, modern creators face a much more crowded and professionalized market. He described the current competition for attention on social media as much more difficult due to the massive volume of content and established creators.
