Torino adopts new fare system for Line 260 and launches 100% recyclable plastic pact
The Metropolitan City of Turin announced that, starting 1 July 2026, the tariff system for public‑transport Line 260 will be aligned with the broader Consorzio Extra To fare structure, standardising ticket prices across the city.
In a separate initiative, Turin’s metropolitan authority signed an agreement with regional waste agencies, public service companies and the independent research institute IPLA to ensure that all plastic collected in the area is 100 % recyclable. Councillor Alessandro Sicchiero said, “With this measure we demonstrate the value of the Metropolitan City as a coordinating hub for the territory,” emphasizing the expected economic benefits for municipal budgets and waste‑tax rates.
