Torino FC Ignazio Abate Roberto D'Aversa head coach appointment Serie A

Torino Football Club announced the end of its partnership with coach Roberto D'Aversa, thanking him for his work and noting the club’s desire to move forward. The club immediately named former defender Ignazio Abate as the new head coach, with a contract running from 1 July 2026 until 30 June 2028.

Abate, who played for Torino in the 2008‑09 season, previously enjoyed a successful playing career with AC Milan, Napoli and the Italy national team, winning a Serie A title and two Supercoppa Italiana trophies. After retiring, he coached Milan’s youth teams, led the Primavera to UEFA Youth League finals, and gained senior experience at Ternana and Juve Stabia before taking the Torino job.
