Torino FC eyes free‑transfer return of defender Matteo Darmian

Torino is assessing the possibility of bringing back former defender Matteo Darmian. The 34‑year‑old is currently a free agent after his contract with Inter Milan expired, making him available on a zero‑parameter basis. Darmian, who played for Torino from 2011 to 2015, later moved to Manchester United, Parma and Inter, and has expressed a desire to remain in Italy.

Club officials, including sporting director Gianluca Petrachi, say the move is still exploratory and would likely be pursued in the final phase of the summer transfer window. Torino hopes the veteran’s experience and versatility can strengthen a defence that has struggled this season. Other Serie A clubs such as Monza and Venezia are also reportedly monitoring Darmian’s availability, but no agreement has been reached yet.
