Turin police investigate homicide and dismemberment of Fabio Colapietro

In Turin, a brutal homicide and dismemberment investigation is unfolding following the death of 39-year-old Fabio Colapietro. The incident occurred in an apartment on via Gulli during what witnesses described as a multi-day drug party involving crack, LSD, and hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Christian Matheus De Oliveira Morando, 26, has confessed to killing Colapietro, claiming the altercation began after the victim allegedly stole 50 euros and a gold bracelet. Morando stated he attempted to resuscitate the victim for two hours before the group decided to dispose of the body.

Nicole Formichetti, a 47-year-old teacher, is currently in custody and facing charges of aiding and abetting the concealment of the corpse. Investigators allege she played a central role in managing the aftermath, including searching online for instructions on how to dispose of a body and assisting in the dismemberment. Parts of the victim were found in a bathtub and in black trash bags, while other remains were reportedly recovered near the Dora river. A third individual, 22-year-old Keith Butig, is also involved in the ongoing investigation.

Separately, in Pellezzano, 53-year-old Antonio Durante has been arrested for the strangulation of his 85-year-old mother, Maria Barone. Durante reportedly confessed to the crime, citing the unbearable pressure of caring for his elderly mother and his brother, who has a mental disability.
