Torino murder investigation: three detained after dismembered body found
Police in Turin have detained three individuals following the discovery of the dismembered body of 39-year-old Fabio Colapietro. The victim's remains were found in an apartment in the Borgo Vittoria district, hidden in black bags and buckets covered with quick-setting cement.
The investigation was triggered by a 112 emergency call from the mother of a 26-year-old man, Christian Matheus De Oliveira Morando, who reportedly confessed to having harmed someone. Authorities have detained the 26-year-old on suspicion of murder and the suppression of a corpse.
Two women are also being investigated for aiding and abetting the suppression of the corpse. Among them is Nicole Formichetti, a 47-year-old Italian teacher who rents the apartment where the remains were discovered. Investigators are working to determine the exact roles of the suspects and whether the murder occurred within the residence or if the body was moved there later. Evidence, including knives, was seized at the scene.
