Tornado strikes Nagarote, causing infrastructure and residential damage

An unusual tornado struck the municipality of Nagarote in the department of León, causing damage to residential infrastructure, public spaces, the electrical grid, and various trees.

Local authorities, led by Mayor Juan Gabriel Hernández, implemented immediate response protocols to conduct censuses of the affected populations and provide assistance to families, many of whom suffered from roof collapses. Residents reported that the phenomenon occurred in the late afternoon, leaving some homes significantly damaged.
