Tornadoes cause property damage in Wisconsin and Manitoba

Multiple tornadoes caused property damage across parts of the United States and Canada. In northeastern Wisconsin, an EF-3 tornado with sustained winds of 140 miles per hour struck Menasha, Appleton, and surrounding communities. The storm damaged Bethel, a bilingual WELS church, and the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Preschool. While the church roof required repairs, interior damage was minimized by quick coverage. No fatalities were reported, and WELS Christian Aid and Relief has deployed volunteers to assist with cleanup and financial aid.

In Canada, a strong storm system moving from Saskatchewan into southwestern Manitoba produced confirmed tornadoes in Elkhorn and near Maryfield. In the Elkhorn area, the storm uprooted trees, downed power lines, and caused widespread property damage, including the destruction of barns and hay sheds in the Kola area. No injuries were reported in the Canadian strikes.
