Toronto Blue Jays eye Seiya Suzuki to bolster offense

The Toronto Blue Jays are reportedly looking to bolster their offense following a season marked by low home run production and injuries. According to MLB reports, General Manager Ross Atkins noted the team's lack of offensive momentum, identifying the outfield as a primary area for reinforcement due to the departure of veteran players.

One potential target is Seiya Suzuki, whose contract expires at the end of the season. Other names mentioned in the pursuit of outfield talent include Randy Arozarena and Bryan De La Cruz. The team may also look toward the Japanese market, following the impactful debut of Kazuma Okamoto.

Okamoto, who joined the Blue Jays this season, finished with 33 home runs and 92 RBIs. Despite the team's struggles, Sports Illustrated highlighted his durability, dubbing him the ‘Iron Man of Toronto’ for appearing in 156 games. This recognition follows his reputation for playing through injuries during his tenure in Japan.
