Toronto Blue Jays make pitching roster changes

The Toronto Blue Jays have made several roster adjustments involving their pitching staff. Right-hander Lazaro Estrada has been outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo after being designated for assignment to create a spot for Daz Cameron. Estrada, who has struggled with a nearly 7.00 ERA in 20.1 MLB innings this season, will remain with the Buffalo Bisons for the rest of the year.

Additionally, the club has designated right-hander Matt Waldron for assignment. Waldron, a knuckleballer claimed off waivers from the Padres two weeks ago, posted a 7.54 ERA in 2026 before this move. To fill the resulting roster spot, the Blue Jays have selected the contract of left-hander Brendan Cellucci, who joins the major league roster after posting a 3.68 ERA in Triple-A.
