Toronto Blue Jays place Jameson Taillon on 15-day injured list

The Toronto Blue Jays have placed right-handed pitcher Jameson Taillon on the 15-day injured list due to right forearm tendinitis. Taillon, 34, was acquired from the Chicago Cubs on August 2 and had made only two starts for Toronto before the injury occurred.

Taillon exited Monday’s game against the Boston Red Sox after four scoreless innings when discomfort in his forearm caused a dip in velocity. While the exact duration of his absence is not yet confirmed, the team expects him to miss at least a few weeks. This marks his second stint on the injured list this season, following a hamstring strain earlier in the year.

In a corresponding roster move, the Blue Jays have recalled right-hander Chase Lee from Triple-A Buffalo. The injury adds further strain to the Toronto rotation, which has recently dealt with other absences, including Trey Yesavage.
