Toronto Caribbean Carnival receives $61,000 federal funding

Parliamentary Secretary Karim Bardeesy announced on behalf of Minister Marc Miller that the federal Building Communities through Arts and Heritage program will provide $61,000 to the Festival Management Committee of the Toronto Caribbean Carnival. The funding supports the 59th edition of the carnival, enabling participation by roughly 9,630 local artists, artisans and heritage performers. The investment is intended to preserve Caribbean‑Canadian cultural traditions, promote inclusivity and strengthen community ties across Toronto.

The program highlights the role of the creative economy in generating economic benefits for the region and underscores the government’s commitment to cultural diversity and heritage preservation.
