Toronto FC goalkeeper Luka Gavran injured during derby match

Toronto FC goalkeeper Luka Gavran sustained an injury during the first half of the 401 Derby against CF Montreal. The injury occurred following a collision with Montreal striker Prince Owusu while Gavran was attempting to collect a chipped ball.

Head coach Robin Fraser indicated that the injury may be similar to a dead leg, potentially caused by a nerve impact, but expressed hope that it would not have long-term implications.

William Yarbrough entered the match in relief for his Toronto FC debut. The 37-year-old veteran recorded six saves, including a notable stop against Alexis Sanchez, to help secure a 2-1 comeback victory for Toronto FC after CF Montreal had held a 1-0 lead until the 92nd minute.
