Toronto International Film Festival announces 2026 lineup

The 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) lineup features a diverse array of world premieres across several programming strands, including Galas, Special Presentations, Platform, and Midnight Madness.

In the Midnight Madness track, director Nick Kozakis will premiere the thriller ‘Kick On’. The film follows four friends whose night of partying turns into a fight for survival at a mobster’s compound. The cast includes Markella Kavenagh, Nikolai Nikolaeff, Ras-Samuel, and Jacek Koman.

The festival’s opening film is Sian Heder’s ‘Being Heumann’. Other notable actor-directed features include Jesse Eisenberg’s ‘The Debut’, Chris Rock’s ‘Misty Green’, Tim Blake Nelson’s ‘The Life And Deaths Of Wilson Shedd’, Courteney Cox’s ‘Evil Genius’, and Rebel Wilson’s ‘Girl Group’.

UK filmmakers are heavily represented in this edition, with works from Mike Leigh, Andrew Haigh, Paul Andrew Williams, and Simon Stone. Stone’s ‘Elsinore’, starring Andrew Scott, chronicles the final year of Ian Charleson’s life.
